Buco? Buko? Booco?

Last night was "Buco" Night for the young moms that go to my church. I went for the first time and we actually didn't play the game, so I still don't know quite what it is or how it works. I did learn, by overhearing, that it takes 12 people and the use of dice.

And that I have simply the most incredible relationship in the world!!!

Now these are Christian ladies talking about their husbands, if they weren't, I bet it could have gotten ugly. As it was, everything was spoken in love, usually with a laugh or a fond smile. But it wasn't long before I felt rather left out . . . I just don't have anything to complain about!

"My husband is just terrible to shop with . . . ." - I don't have a bit of problem here. I like to browse occasionally, and J likes to spoil me occasionally. Other than that, let's get in and get out! And he pushes the cart. Who could ask for more?

"I'm trying to talk my husband into letting me have another, but it isn't going to happen." - this to me is so sad . . . . I'm very, very thankful I don't have this problem. That we are putting our faith in God for finances and the effort required to have a large family. Speaking from experience now (lol) I really don't have what it takes to raise Samuel! When I try to do things on my own strength, I fall apart from lack of sleep, constant nursing, ect. When I lean on the Everlasting Arms, God is my strength, God is my patience, God is my empowerment to be a wife and mom! Suddenly, I can do all things through Christ, be that wife, mom of one, or mom of three or more. God is good. He's not going to give me more than I can handle. Really!

"My husband encourages me to talk to my friends so he doesn't have to hear it." - Me and J talk. And then talk some more. And when we run out of things to talk about, we talk about how much we talk!  If I don't talk alot, he usually tells me to go take a nap. He knows I'm tired!

"Wouldn't it be nice if our husbands held a baby this small [holding Samuel] and said, 'I'm ready for the next one!'" - Um, actually, J does that alot. He's never not said he doesn't want lots more, even when Samuel is covered in poo. Probably because I change him when that happens!

"I just have to get out of the house!" - It was funny, I told them all that this was the second time in two years that I hadn't spent the evening with J. The first time was at your bachelorette party, Kristina! Did you know that? J has made me several offers to let me "out of the house", like, to go shopping while he watches Samuel. It's just . . . not . . . appealing without him . . . . .

Well, it was fun. I just hope the topic isn't Little-Things-About-My-Husband-That-Bug-Me-Or-I-Would-Change next time! Then I can join in . . . .

Here is Espresso, who has taken it upon himself to be something of a guardian for Samuel when mommy isn't right there . . . .

Lol! Horray, though. I feel the exact same way. Sometimes the ornery part of me wants to just stick out my tongue and chant "nah-nah, my husband's nicer then yours." I have NOT done that yet, so don't be to shocked. As for shopping? I'M the one who hates it, and Chris enjoys it. But watching him ride down the aisles on the cart is so much fun that when he's along, I love shopping too!

Aww, now I feel bad. I didn't mean to take you away from J for my bachelorette party...sorry!

I'm really glad we combined the two parties that night, though...I was really hoping Maria would do that, and she didn't disappoint me...she knew I would rather be with Matthew for most of the night rather than have a traditional no-boys-allowed party...do you remember how happy you were to see J when they blindfolded you at your party? Yeah, I'd say we both know that awesome feeling...

I totally hear you when it comes to shopping and talking. It's really weird, but one of my favorite things to do is to go shopping with Matthew...even just picking up bread and milk is fun with him. We walk around the store holding hands and flirting and laughing...it's great. Last night we were at Wal-mart getting a few things, and we saw this guy get mad at his wife when she asked to look at a clock. I just hugged Matthew because I'm so thankful that he's not like that...

And the talking thing, oh yeah. He's the only person I ever call, unless something comes up once in a blue moon. We leave each other messages, and as soon as I get off work, I talk to him all the way home (or vice versa.) It seems like we never run out of things to talk about! I guess it's because our  hubbies are also our best friends, huh?

*sigh* Your post makes me happy...

Ashley, did you know you can delete comments? I would recommend it for the previous one...

Wish I could do it myself...

Well I have to commend my husband as he wants to go straight to what he came in for but then he goes & will sit in the car with our dog, relax, & let me shop as long as I want. Sometimes 2 hrs. so I really appreciate that. In turn when he goes to the antique store looking for coins he will be there at least an hr. & doesn't complain when I go for a walk that will last an hr. & then he comes & picks us up.
